Canopy Engineered Wood Herringbone Flooring Installation in West Wickham

Alba Flooring supplied and installed 33.5m² of Canopy Engineered Wood Flooring in a classic herringbone pattern at a residential property in West Wickham.

The project began with the uplift and responsible disposal of the existing flooring before extensive subfloor preparation was carried out to ensure a long-lasting and professional finish.

To create the required SR1 standard subfloor, we mechanically fixed 6mm flooring-grade plywood to the existing timber subfloor, primed the surface, and applied a flexible fibre reinforced smoothing compound.

Once the subfloor had been fully prepared, the engineered wood herringbone flooring was installed using high-performance MS parquet adhesive, providing exceptional stability and durability.

The project was completed with the installation of a standard coir entrance mat featuring a bespoke trim detail. Existing skirting boards were carefully removed and reinstated to conceal the expansion gap around the perimeter, creating a seamless and refined finish throughout the property.

The completed installation delivers the timeless appearance of herringbone flooring while combining practicality, durability, and exceptional craftsmanship.
